Cassondra Roberts joined HSC as a MSW intern in September 2018. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Sociology with a concentration in Black Studies from SUNY New Paltz. She desired to join the New York City community as a Fordham University Master’s in Social Work student to learn the key components to help the urban impoverished community of her hometown.
She adds a unique perspective being an Albany native who worked 5 years at St. Anne Institute. Cassondra also brings her experience of working in the juvenile justice and child welfare sectors in both upstate NY and in the Bronx. During Cassondra’s internship at City Councilmember Ben Kallos’ office in Manhattan, the political climate in the nation shifted, which heightened her interest in the advocacy interaction between the non-profit and government sectors.
