Iona Tan joined HSC in August 2016 after graduating from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development with a B.S. in Media, Culture, and Communication. She interned with the grassroots organization ARTE, where she enacted her interests in education, human rights, and visual art. She has worked and interned for various youth and community development organizations, including University Settlement, where she taught computer & communication classes for young adults with Autism. In the future she hopes to delve into her passion for art in some capacity, and seeks to find intersections between identity politics and self expression.
