Threat of Trump cuts does have one benefit for de Blasio

While Mayor Bill de Blasio and his budget director Dean Fuleihan have said they will fight President Donald Trump’s proposed budget cuts rather than slash city expenditures, the mayor on Friday cited the Trump cuts as a reason for the city to be careful about spending. On Brian Lehrer’s radio show, he fielded a question from an employee of New York Foundling who said the nonprofit was losing money because of inadequately funded service agreements with the city.
