Human service non-profits: Don’t forget about us in budget

With Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday pledging $55 million for direct care providers in the final budget, other non-profits and human service providers are pleading with state officials to pony up extra funding for them in the new state spending plan.

Restore Opportunity Now, a coalition of nearly 350 human services organizations statewide, said in a statement on Wednesday that Cuomo’s pledge for $55 million “falls woefully short in ensuring all human services workers, upon whom the State also depends, will be there when needed.”
