Louisa Chafee

Senior Vice President of External Relations and Public Policy, UJA-Federation of New York

Louisa Chafee is the SVP of External Relations and Public Policy at UJA-Federation NY.

Louisa brings over 15 years of government leadership experience. Most recently she served in the administration of Governor Andrew Cuomo as Deputy Secretary for Human Services, with oversight of all New York State Human Services and Veteran Affairs. Prior, Louisa spent eleven years with the Mayor’s Office in the City of New York. There she had extensive operational and policy responsibilities, and oversaw major infrastructure reforms in the information technology.

Earlier in her career she worked in Child Welfare, for a federal judge, in the private legal and corporate sectors, and was a Robert Bosch Foundation Fellow.

Chafee received a B.A. from Macalester College and an M.P A. from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. She lives in Park Slope Brooklyn with her husband, two children, and their dog.
