Luis Saavedra joined the Human Services Council (HSC) in October 2015. Prior to joining HSC, he worked as an immigrant rights advocate at the New York State Youth Leadership Council (NYSYLC). At NYSYLC, Luis focused on facilitating access to higher education for immigrant youth through leadership development and advocacy. He has also interned at Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities Service, where he had a remarkable experience with cancer patients. Luis majored in Anthropology at Lehman College and hopes to pursue Medical Anthropology at the graduate level.
