Senior Policy Analyst

MJ joined the Human Services Council in January 2019. Prior to joining the HSC team, MJ served as the Associate Director of News and Rapid Response at the LGBTQ advocacy non-profit GLAAD where he spearheaded their tracking and messaging around state and federal policy and developed rapid response campaigns to impact the narrative surrounding anti-LGBTQ policy. At GLAAD, MJ co-authored reports on shifting the media narrative on anti-transgender violence and the media coverage of legislation affecting the LGBTQ community.  He also led the tracking and media monitoring departments at Correct the Record during the 2016 election which he was recruited to run after being a political tracker at American Bridge 21st Century. MJ holds a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies from SUNY Stony Brook.
